Trauma-Informed Care in Portland, Oregon
I offer a sanctuary for deep healing work, where we collaborate as partners in your journey toward embodied safety and resilience.
Through a dynamic integration of trauma-informed acupuncture, NeuroAffective Touch®, and somatic parts work, you’ll find a refuge where your body's messages can unfurl at their own pace.
Your body's wisdom guides the way.
Modalities & Approach
Authentic choice and consent are the very foundation of our work. You know your body best. Even if that knowing doesn’t feel very available, I’m here to light the way. Your nervous system carries a blueprint for safety, and together we create space for that wisdom to emerge and guide our work.
How might it be to discover that your body knows exactly what it needs - needles or touch, stillness or movement, connection or space?
Whether our work utilizes the trauma-informed acupuncture, co-regulating or NeuroAffective Touch, parts work or somatic inquiry, we let your nervous system set the pace.

NeuroAffective Touch & Co-Regulating Touch
I believe attuned presence is the basis for this type of healing. We’ve all felt frustration, anger or grief when what we are trying to communicate is not understood, as well as the sigh (and sometimes tears) of relief when we finally get our point across. I think of attuned touch as one of the ways that our bodies get to experience the relief of being understood.
My approach is based in both NeuroAffective Touch and Kathy Kain’s Somatic Resilience and Regulation, modalities specifically developed to address the ways developmental trauma lives in the body, as well as craniosacral therapy, .
Sometimes this means a quiet space where deep rest can unfold, sometimes it invites collaborative exploration to discover the specific quality of presence that helps earliest protective patterns soften or brings new vitality where there has been collapse. Through this dance, the threads connecting body and mind grow stronger. Experiences of safety bring new neural pathways and new possibilities of experience.
“I think this work can benefit so many people. In particular for those of us who have done so much “work” / introspection, it is quite humbling how much can arise in the space of quiet attunement and coregulation.”
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Body-Oriented Parts Work
Sometimes the physical distress, pain and symptoms that we experience are not “the problem” but actually information we haven’t yet been able to hear. Our bodies and our internal systems possess a wealth of information that our minds struggle to apprehend. Parts work can be a bridge to messengers like body pain, a hypervigilant nervous system, persistent physical symptoms that don't respond to usual interventions,
Integrating my somatic background with training as a Level 2 IFS Practitioner, I approach parts work as a pathway to repairing our relationship with our bodies, fostering an internal sense of belonging, and becoming more fully who we are.
This is not psychotherapy but rather a facilitated process in which you have support for venturing into the realm of the body and accompaniment for being with what arises. This embodied approach to parts work can unfold as its own complete journey, or weave naturally with acupuncture and attuned touch.
“ I deeply appreciate the sanctuary that you consistently provide, both physically (your office space) and emotionally/energetically (your presence). My body knows this, too, because I can feel it start to “talk” to me as soon as I sit down in your chair. It’s like every part of me knows that your office is the space where all of my parts get to show up and be acknowledged/heard in a respectful way.”
Trauma-Informed Acupuncture
Over the years I’ve developed a unique approach to acupuncture which helps you learn how to listen to cues from your body at the same time we are addressing symptoms and supporting the flow of qi.
Through a simple, no-pressure invitations, I’ll support you in honoring your body’s preference for acupuncture, touch, or other modalities can best answer your body’s call. In this way, the entry point to the modality is itself a a doorway of embodied awareness, consent and safety.
“your style of acupuncture has been revelatory. I feel more engaged in the process, more aware of what my body wants/needs, and more in touch with myself generally.”
