Welcome Laura!

I am very excited to introduce Laura Salvatore, a lovely human being with a gentle and attuned presence. In the winter of 2023 I invited Laura to join my practice as a resident practitioner, to deepen her skills in providing trauma-informed care as an acupuncturist, craniosacral therapist, and somatic practitioner. Laura, who is training in NeuroAffective Touch, is currently offering acupuncture and craniosacral therapy appointments.

Here is a little more about Laura, in her own words:

“I grew up in Santa Cruz, California, where the ocean and redwood trees provided sanctuary and guidance for my sensitive, old soul. Keenly aware of the suffering in this world, I have felt a life-long calling to be a healer. Through my own health journey, I experienced deeper healing and resonance with natural, holistic approaches than I did with allopathic care, which ultimately inspired me to pursue Classical East Asian medicine.

”I have been a certified body and energy worker since 2012, when I graduated from the California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo, CA. Wanting to further my study of the body, I received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University in 2015. In 2021, I graduated with my Masters in Classical Chinese Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine, here in Portland, OR, and became a national board-certified acupuncturist with the NCCAOM and Oregon Medical Board. I am currently training in NeuroAffective Touch, a somatic approach to developmental trauma, and being mentored by Tracy in trauma-informed practice.

“As an East Asian medicine practitioner, I specialize in providing gentle, heart-centered care. I offer relationship-based medicine and strive to listen deeply to my patients - not only to the stories that they share, but to the stories held in the tissues of their bodies. I am especially interested in supporting the release of emotional and energetic patterns that get stuck and manifest as physical issues in the body. I approach each patient with reverence for their unique ability to heal themselves, and believe whole-heartedly in the innate wisdom each individual possess. It is my innermost desire that all patients in my care feel truly witnessed, compassionately held, and empowered in their authentic expression of health and wholeness.

”My treatment style is that of a “less-is-more” approach. I value hands-on, gentle work, and attempt to guide my patients into a greater connection with themselves and their bodies in order to access the healing they seek. The main modalities I draw upon in my practice include: Traditional Japanese style acupuncture and moxibustion, medical qigong, craniosacral massage therapy, somatic-emotional release therapy, and intuitive energy healing. I enjoy working with all walks of life and states of dis-ease. I absolutely love what I do, and look forward to meeting you where you are at on your journey to optimum wellness.”
